Odyssey Leadership Program

The Odyssey Leadership Program is a fifteen-day program available to Odyssey alumni. Because Odyssey graduates know best what it takes to succeed at Odyssey, returning “Odyssey Leaders” can be a powerful source of support and guidance to their peers. Students who are accepted into the Leadership Program join a group of students as they transition into the Community Phase of the program. Aboard the sailboat, Odyssey Leaders build upon the skills and resources they acquired in their previous Odyssey experience, while they learn advanced longboat sailing skills, practice leadership techniques, and further the effectiveness of their new sailing community.

To be eligible for the Leadership Program, the student must demonstrate personal initiative in applying for the program and complete a written interview included in the Leadership Program Application. Admittance into the program is based on the student’s articulated desire to reinforce the skills they attained through their previous Odyssey expedition, to support the learning and growth of other students, and to contribute to a community larger than their own.

Available Dates

Space is limited to one Odyssey Leader per course and it is important to register as soon as possible to hold a space in your preferred Leadership Program course date.
