Assessment
The Odyssey Clinical Model begins with accurate assessment utilizing three initial assessment measures:
- Youth Outcome Questionnaire (SR Y-OQ 2.0)
- Family Assessment Measure (FAM III)
- Therapist Assessment and Treatment Plan Development
Youth Outcome Questionnaire
The SR Y-OQ 2.0 is a brief, 64-item self report measure of treatment progress for children and adolescents (ages 4 – 17) receiving mental health intervention. The Y-OQ is meant to track actual change in functioning of the adolescent as opposed to assigning a diagnosis.
All students complete the Y-OQ on the first and final day of the program.
Family Assessment Measure
The FAM-III is a self-report measure that assesses the strengths and weaknesses within a family. It consists of three types of forms: a 50-item General Scale that examines overall family health, a 42-item Dyadic Relationship Scale that examines how a family member views his or her relationship with other family members, and a 42-item Self-Rating Scale that allows each person to rate his or her own functioning within the family. By comparing these scales, we can obtain a comprehensive picture of how family members view levels of family interaction.
All students and parents complete the FAM-III within the first 2-weeks of the program.
Therapist Assessment and Treatment Plan Development
Therapists meet individually with each student to complete a risk assessment of the student’s overall presentation and begin the treatment process. The initial treatment plan is developed from these initial meetings.
All students meet with a Therapist during the first two weeks of the program.
