ACCREDITATION

Odyssey Wilderness Programs is an accredited Special Purpose School through the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC). NWAC is one of the nation’s six regional accrediting associations and is recognized in public and private school systems nationally and internationally. Accreditation through NWAC ensures reciprocity of credits, courses and grade-level placement among member schools and requires Odyssey to be actively engaged in a rigorous, ongoing education improvement process.

ACADEMIC CREDIT

Students who complete the four-week Odyssey program are eligible to earn .25 school credits in Physical Education, Home and Family Life and a Writing Elective.

Students who complete the six to eight-week Odyssey program are eligible to earn .5 school credits in Physical Education, Home and Family Life and a Writing Elective.

Students’ curriculums are reviewed and graded by Odyssey’s Academic Director, and the amount of school credit granted to each student in the above subject areas is based on this review. An official transcript documenting grades and credits earned is mailed to each student’s family and most recently attended school within 2-4 weeks of graduation.

Class Completion

When a student is enrolled in a course that overlaps with the school year, Odyssey’s Academic Director can consult with parents and educational professionals to compile minimal coursework for the student to complete during their expedition. This enables students to pass classes that would otherwise be left incomplete.
