WHY CHOOSE ODYSSEY WILDERNESS PROGRAMS?

Odyssey is a dynamic, specialized wilderness therapy program, blending expeditionary learning with a highly effective clinical model of change. The result is a positive, strength-based intervention program that is educationally intensive, socially and emotionally challenging, and highly therapeutic.

Overall, Odyssey’s therapeutic wilderness programs are ideal for capable yet troubled teenagers, both male and female, who are not living up to their potential—teens who are misdirected and in need of guidance and structure to learn how to make better choices.

Who Does Wilderness Therapy Help?

Teenagers from various backgrounds benefit from the unique experience of wilderness therapy. Typical Odyssey students are male and female, ages 13–18. Their struggles may include: conflict with parents, depression, anxiety, anger, lying, trouble in school, low self-esteem, self harm, adoption/attachment issues, grief/loss issues, drug/alcohol experimentation, ADD/ADHD, lack of motivation/direction, or manipulative/oppositional behavior problems.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s appropriateness for the Odyssey program, please call (360) 671-4999 to speak with an admissions counselor.
